We have legacy systems that sends huge volumes of journals monthly in CSV format. While this was a breeze in COBOL the performance is awful when trying to load via IPA or ION. What is the recommended alternative Infor pushes us to use ION but it seems to be awful. We are migrating to a cloud version.

We have recently upgraded to LSF 10 and LMK 11. We used to be able to copy our production data to our DR data, make a few adjustments and bring up the systems. Infor is telling us that it is impossible now. Their solution would take 48 hours and to test we would need to shutdown our production system. Seems extreme. I am interested in what other do for their disaster recovery process.

How do old product names map to Infor products?

So I basically inherited an audit, Infor wants to audit all of our 'S3' stuff, but I'm NOT a Lawson guru and I can't figure out what all they want to audit. For example our POF has 'Vendor Self-Service' and 'Purchase Order' -- is that S3 How can I tell Is there a list somewhere of all the products that are S3 products There's not much helpful on infor's web site, they have no support and the content is all market droid junk. None of the supply chain stuff seems to match up.

Griping. The KnowledgeBase on mylawson.com is still not available as of today Monday June 6 after being down for the past 5 days. I called Lawson and the guy said it will be down until mid week at the earliest. I guess it's down so they can remove all of the references to RSS Another black eye. I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 and IE 8 on it. When I go to the lawson support site, I type in my user id and password but I can't log in. The screen refreshes, no error message, status bar displays 'Done'. I'm not having trouble with an other web sites. I checked the login is good on my old computer and also using Chrome on the new one. I have disabled popup blocker, reduced security level, made Lawson a trusted site, nothing is working.

We are in the infant stages of testing our DR strategy; we already have an off-site mirror (lpar'd AIX) that we run our DEV and TEST on and we replicate our local live data to the remote site. I am working on writing a proposal to submit to our internal Lawson Steering Committee to develop a standard practice of applying the many patches and updates released by Lawson on a set schedule.&160; Currently we apply them only if they are identified as 'needed' by one of the business owners of the different Lawson modules or we apply them when we encounter issues and the patch will solve the issue.

POLLING THE AUDIENCE:
I'm perplexed that when we pose a 'question' to GSC they tell us that they are ONLY there to troubleshoot possible system issues and NOT to answer training questions.
We paid heavily for Lawson training, which was subpar to say the least. They seem to want us to go to the Knowledge Base, documentation and various forums in hopes of getting answers. Sometimes we can find our answers in the KB or the documentation, but sometimes we put forth diligent efforts and...

Sigh................
I marked my calendar. Eagerly awaited the Launch of MyLawson.com with anticipation.
I was expecting a streamlined portal/dash board for assistance from Lawson. An example would be, a list of my open cases, or an easy way to search for information.
I was disapointed
1. it didn't list all my cases. have to go back and use support.lawson.com. Maybe i missed something....
2. the site was SLOW. like driving 40 mph on on 65mph hwy that has no cars in front of you.

I just started in the IT Enterprise Systems group at a large Energy company that uses Lawson. My primary responsibility will be supporting Lawson.
For someone who has never heard about Lawson until their interview, can anyone recommend any books on Lawson
