We are in the process of getting our system ready for Infor 10. We are currently on lawson 9. For infor 10 is there anything wrong with strictly going in through the portal? Thats how our company is used to things currently with Lawson 9.

Also we have noticed that our 10 does not have a log off or log out button. Any suggestions on this?

Although we are not on 10 yet... I've heard that the code for the logout button still exists... it's just commented out.
Have your web developer find the code and uncomment it.
Should put it right back in.

Using /lawson/portal directly is not supported for S3 forms.
You can use self-service centers (e.g. /lawson/xhrnet, /lawson/xbnnet, /rqc, etc.) directly, but NOT portal for S3 forms.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Using your 'regular' portal  /lawson/portal  is not supported by Infor/Lawson. Really.
I mean you could have and use /lawson/portal  but it won't be supported by Infor/Lawson if something goes awry or you have some application issues.

So you have to also have your Sharepoint/Mingle installed. That does have a log out link, albeit it doesn't look the same as the old one.
