When you run a portal update, do you need to run on both your lawson app server and lawson portal server ?

running windows \ sql

Was told By Lawson that if we run ENV upgrade to 9006 - we also must do the Portal upgrade.

That is correct, as well as Design Studio if you own it.

This is off the top of my head, so it may not be 100% accurate, but I think these are the steps:

1. stop websphere
2. run ENV update
3. run portal update (on lawson and portal server)
4. run DS update  (on lawson and portal server)
5. start websphere
6. Deploy LSF9 EARs
7. Stop/start websphere

When you install portal and studio, it "remembers" the installed location, so you update that installed location. You need to update both the app server side and the web server side.
