Hi All,    I am looking for best practices for backing up a database for a payroll run.  Do most sites take a backup prior to the payroll runs and/or take strategic backups thru the payroll run.   I did see some posts back from 2009 about some taking a backup after PR160 run.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Our DBA have hourly backup but not related to the Payroll run. However, we had experienced twice long time ago that after running PR160 we saw issues. We called Lawson support and asked for assistance on how to rerun from the very beginning.

Technically, the payroll can be re-run and the payroll cycle can start over as long as the PR197 hasn't be run in update mode and you haven't sent the ACH tape or checks/receipts out the door. Really only one export is needed, right before the PR197. You can go back as far or as you need (or not).
