Can anyone explain what changes occurred to the pmtout file with the lsf 9 upgrade?

I'm suspecting that we'll have to hire/pay our Bottom Line vendor to either tweak our current mapping for the check printing or have them rewrite from scratch, depending on what types of changes we are to expect.

It changed from an ext seq file (one line file with records stacked end to end) to a file with multiple lines and record types.

We contacted Bottom Line, but they told us they were not even aware the pmtout file changed. They were not even sure what mappings had to be tweaked.

We looked into changing the mappings ourselves, but that proved to be difficult. We didn't know how to map it because the information are on different lines now.

We decided to finally write a custom program to reformat the new PMTOUT file back to the orginal PMTOUT file.

and this occurred with the lsf 9 upgrade, an environment only upgrade?

I would expect the apps 9 to change some things, but did not expect that the lsf enviro only upgrade would change any app related items....

I'm thinking any changes to PMTOUT occurs with an app upgrade to v9 - when we performed our env only upgrade in November of 2008, we had no changes to our PMTOUT file.  We're still on 8.1 apps

Beverly - Did you ever get a resolution on this? We are looking to remap the PMTOUT back to old format from LSF9 format.

You can download the XLS file for PR160 PMTOUT layout from lawson support.

Do a search on "PMTOUT" and click the "File Layouts" tab.

Why would you want to remap the PMTOUT to the old format anyway? Your third-party check print vendor should have the import routine for 9.0.x version of PMTOUT.

We hired Bottom line to change our mappings for check print.
