Has anyone success fully installed and configured IIS 8.x for Landmark installed on Win 2012?

I'm only seeing IIS 7 as the version which is compatible and supported with Landmark on Win 2012.

Thanks in advance,

Roger

Wait, that's impossible...

IIS 7.0 is Windows 2008
IIS 7.5 is Windows 2008 r2
IIS 8.0 is Windows 2012
IIS 8.5 is Windows 2012 r2

...and you can't cross install on these versions, since this was the time that MS was phasing out 32-bit code, and making 64-bit code mandatory.

I have it running on Windows 2012 r2, if that's what you're asking...
BUT if you're really talking about Windows 2012 (NON R2), then I'm not sure, as that would depend on the LRMK version.

We'd need more version info.

My question is:

On a Landmark server with Win 2012 R2 with IIS 8.5 installed, the install guide for this Landmark version (10.1.x)  as well as the compatibility matrix do not list IIS 8.5. as being supported or compatible for the LANDMARK, even with Win 2012R2. Trying to avoid the gotcha of later on of installing Landmark 10.1.x and it not being supported or installing correctly because of IIS 8.5.

Thanks,

Hmm. Seems like an oversight. Let me check the matrix in the morning, and see what I find.

I'd reach out to Infor and see if it was just missed, and I'll do the same, unless I find it somewhere

Also with configuring the IIS 8.5 plugin.

Since this is IIS 8.5, I am presuming that the usual configureiis7plugin commands "won't work" on IIS 8.5 Win 2012R2. Or will configureiis7plugin commands work on Win2012R2???

So then, I am assuming that the other command configureiis.exe is used instead.

Can anyone confirm this and provide an exmaple of using configureiis.exe since the parameters are a little different.

Thanks,

-R

Received word directly from Infor that IIS8.5 is not supported. So I guess that answers my question.

I think the info you received is incorrect.

The July 31st, 2015 Matrix supports Windows 2012 R2 (see page 40), which ONLY comes with IIS 8.5.
See my earlier post.

I'll say it a different way, Microsoft does NOT make IIS 8.0 available on Windows 2012 R2.

So this configuration is NOT valid, according to Microsoft.
Windows 2012 R2
Landmark 10.1.1+
IIS 8.0

Also, as to your question concerning the plug in, I never use the config scripts provided by IBM, as I prefer more granular control of my installations.

Based on your original post, I'd imagine you're correct though.

Nope, not incorrect. I was explicitly told by Infor that IIS8.5 was not supported. The matrix doesn't even mention IIS 8.5. It mentions IIS 8.0 but not explicitly IIS 8.5. Yes I already know Win2012R2 only comes with IIS 8.5 and I already know LSF and Landmark support  Win2012R2.

fair enough.

So that leads to the next logical question: How do you install LMRK on Windows 2012 R2, use IIS, and be supported?
That's what I posited to Infor in an email a few minutes ago.

I just checked, and the I'm certain the compatibility matrix will be updated, as it (and the info you received) is both incorrect and incomplete.

If you look at page 17 (which is where I believe you were looking and ONLY applies to LSF), you'll see NO reference to WAS ND 8.5.5, but on page 41 (which ONLY applies to LMRK), you see the minimum required WAS ND IS 8.5.5, but catch this "...for IIS 7.0", no reference to IIS 8.x, which makes Windows 2012 certification impossible.

My guess is they will have to add a line for "IIS 8.5 with WAS ND 8.5.5" min version 10.0.7 (LSF)" on page 17, and they'll have to clean up page 41.

If I were you, I'd call back, and get a more authoritative answer, because the one you received is clearly incorrect.
