I have a question that I don't know which category it should go, so I enter here.
We have a board approved project, for example, $100,000.
Under 100,000, there are 4 tasks, each task has $25,000.
When project is on going, under each task, there are autorized sub-task1,2,..etc , let's say, sub-task1 for $10,000. So, the construction department currently maintain an excel spread sheet to log all the records. Nothing to do with Lawson so far, until we need to pay vendor for the sub-task1 for 20%, that is $2000. Then, we create a PO for $2000 and pay to Vendor. Is there any module that we can use in the Lawson? Since I'm new to the Lawson, any input will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Lawson has a projects module aka activities.
Activities can be entered on any financial transaction (ap invoices, purchase orders, journal entries, etc).
Activities also has some budgeting capabilities.
Depending on how you were licensed, if you have basic financials, you may already have activities (although that really depends).

Thank you Adam. I don't know how to set it up to meet our needs but I will pass the information to the person who asked me this question. THanks!

A couple of ideas:
Activities are a good approach to this, since you can build the WBS and budget down to the subtask. This would replace the spreadsheet.
How does the vendor invoice this? Do they send one invoice at the beginning, etc. ?
You also could explore creating one PO with the vendor and using multiple lines for each task/subtask since this sounds like it's more aligned with your business process than entering a separate PO for each subtask. You would then receive/match the vendor's invoice against the po line. So you are essentially using the PO as a budget tool.
You can also look at recurring invoices and/or holds from the AP side.
