I have recently read that Oracle has made the decision to not support the HP Itanium chip on Oracle 12g.

We have three HP Superdome Itanium servers that run Lawson with full disaster recovery failover to a remote site. This has been a more than significant investment.

How many other Lawson users are running on Itanium servers? What are the best options to be considering?

This will also affect our clinical software which would have an even greater impact on the organization than Lawson.

We are just now in the process of upgrading to Oracle 11g so we have some time to work on it, but we will need that much time for this kind of change.

I know this is an older post, but you may have to redesign your application footprint to move the Oracle part to another platform.

With that, I make the assumption that Oracle will provide a client for 12g on HPUX-Itanium, -or- the 11 client will work for a while longer.

Thank you John. That is somewhat encouraging.
