Is it possible to define an ED02 record in such a way that I can make use of one set of FTP credentials and then create two ED02 records that will define in and out directories (i.e. in for invoices, out for POs); or can ED02 direct to the default home directory of the login, thus requiring two separate sets of credentials?

I don't understand what you want to do. You want separate ED02 records, one to define the out directory and one to define the in directory on the remote server?

To clarify, I know I need two separate ED02 records if I have files going back and forth. What I was looking to confirm is if I can make use of one FTP login and then specify an in or out directory on the ED02 record. For some vendors, we actually use two separate logins and then deposit or retrieve the files from the respective home directory. I think I just found my answer on Infor Xtreme (KB 1206325). It appears User Field 3 and 4 allow one to define a destination and receive directory, respectively.

That's what was confusing me. You shouldn't need two separate ED02 records for inbound and outbound files. You just set the "put" directory in User Field 3 and the "get" directory in User Field 4.

It's possible what you want is the ED10 record. You want the carrier for the outbound to be one FTP and the carrier for the inbound to be another?
