I am looking for any information someone may have on installing LSO to an iSeries (V5R4).  I know it is an external server connecting to Lawson, but I am looking for any glitches or positves of connecting LSO to Lawson on the iSeries.

We are also an iSeries shop (V6R1). We just purchased a Windows 2008 server to install LSO. We are trying the install this week. Do you have LSO installed yet ?

Another iseries (V7R1) shop looking to install LSO, reading through the Lifecycle manager install guide it mentions Middleware requirements IBM Websphere Application Network Deployment (WAS ND) 7.0 min fixpack 1. I checked my iseries and don't have this installed and see it requires licensing on the iseries.

Does this need to be installed on the iseries for LSO? The instructions I received had only the following listed

1) Install LCM
2) Install Grid
3) Install Grid Extension - session provider
4) Install Windows Session provider
5) Install LSO

Nothing was listed about installs on the iseries. Can someone confirm?

Smart Office is not supported on iSeries, you need a Windows box when installing Smart Office.

LSO installs are compeltely independent of an LCF installaltion. The installation is done compeletely on the Windows server. The WAS reference deals with older versions. If you install LSO 9.0.1.8, for example, the Lawson Grid replaces the need for a WAS server. In some cases, using DSSO may requrie a WAS install but that install will be on the Windows server, not on the iSeries. My last installations were for iSeries, all components for LCM, Grid and LSO were on a windows server. the same installation commuinicates with the iSeries LSF installations on both V5r4 and v7r1 (in the middle of a migration so the current production is on V5r4 and the future on V7r1)

We just ran into a huge problem.  We installed LSO to our Test iSeries on 6/19 but we did a restore of data from our Prod to Test, just the LAWAPP9DB library.  When we did a stop/start of the Grid it would not allow us back into LSO.

I have had 3 consultants already try to figure out why we can't get connected.  It all comes down to the DSSO application.  The error we get from the log is: "Your OS account has not been configured for authentication."

They have even done a reinstall and have the same results.  We are using DSSO version:  DSSO_9023_13.

Has anyone run into this issue.

Check your DSSO related EAR file settings.
