Windows Server 2008 upgrade

Hi,

We have S3 10.0.7 and Landmark 10.1.1.36 and LTM 11.0.0.15 on Windows Server 2008 environment.

We would like to upgrade to Windows Server 2012.

Has anyone done such upgrade before?

Any Infor guides that may help?

Did you do Data Migration?

we are in the same boat, do you know if you can do inplace upgrade or have to stand up new box than install Lawson ?

We are just getting started. We have Infor Services doing the upgrade because we are also going to upgrade our applications and Infor requires a certified Lawson/Infor installer. Even though you may not be upgrading your applications you may need to have a certified installer. Either Infor or another consulting company.

Are you upgrading to Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2?

Microsoft does not recommend an in place upgrade from Windows 2008 to 2012. So that means installing on a new server and migrating data. However, Infor does not support a parallel migration path for Landmark currently, so technically you have to install the same Landmark environment and application versions in order to copy the data. Windows 2012 R2 is the recommended OS version. The Landmark Admin guide has information on copying data from one environment to another.

Hi All, Any update on this? We are also considering a Windows 2008 R2 in place upgrade to Windows 2012 R2 while keeping the same version of Landmark(10.1). I realize Windows do not recommend this approach but there seems to be a lot of successful upgrades out there (not necessarily app servers) and since we are federated the alternative is not just a simple install on a new Landmark server.
