We are windows/sql  lsf9 ENV 9.0.0.6 Apps 9.0.0.4

We are getting this error accessing portal

The Portal cannot load because the Profile service returned an error:
2010-10-06 14:48:16 : INCIDENT_ID#1286387296617-0030 An error occurred outside of IOS while accessing Lawson Database : File GEN/USER.OpenDBFile2 error is Unable to communicate with database driver process (99).Additional information is 1182.

LIDE we get

Unable to start service program D:\lsf9\gen\bin\lalogin.exe The lalogin.exe does not exist

The LAUNT directory does not exist anymore

IT looks like most of the .exe. files are missing

Lawson has not responded for over anhour already

Any ideas would help

Thanks

JC

John, have you had any hardware issues? possibly lost a hard drive? From the errors you are getting from LID it looks like something happened in the OS. Either a hard drive crash or some how folders were moved or deleted on your server.

I would do these steps in your shoe.

1 ) Unplug the lawson server from the network.
2 ) check for hardware failures
3 ) run thorough virus scan
4 ) determine and find out how and when the files were deleted or moved and how and who? (check the recycle bin?)
5 ) do you have a backup image of the LSF folders? if so, how old was it? can it be restored? When was the last env patch was put in vs your backup folder image datestamp.

You have a problem for sure.

Let me guess.. you are on Windows, and the antivirus has "cleaned up"?

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Just to add to this - we had the exact same error message (all our files and directories were intact). I tried logging into the database with the id the application uses and got a message - ORA-28002: the password will expire in 7 days Would you like to change your password? The DBA was contacted - all three id's (lawson, gen and logan) had the same issue - the DBA set the accounts so the password will not expire. This resolved the issue.
