We are looking at moving our Fax Server from a real server to a virtual server and were looking for some guidance on using RightFax (Virtual faxing software) instead of the Windows Fax Service. Are you running Fax Integrator on a real server or a virtual server? Lawson states they do not support Fax integrator on a virtual server.

Is running Fax Integrator on a virtual server even possible? How would we specify that the Fax Integrator should place PO's to fax in the RightFax Queue instead of the Windows Fax Server queue?

We are currently on Fax Integrator 9.0.0.3 but would be upgrading to the latest version for the move to this new virtual server for the Windows 2008 Server support.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Running the Fax Integrator from a virtual should be no problem... what I see will be a problem is your wanting to use RightFax in place of the Windows Fax service. I don't think there is anything configurable in the Fax server for destination queue... Unless there is in RightFax? You may be able to point RightFax where the files get placed at and tell it to process there. We currently are running our Fax Integrator on a dedicated desktop machine, but are looking to make it virtual.

Why do you want to abandon Windows Fax Service in lieu of RightFax?  And although I can think of various reasons, what reason motivates you to move the fax into a virtual environment?

This topic is a bit old, but I was wondering if anyone had accomplished this.

We are looking at our current fax setup and are concerned about potential failures. We are using the Fax Integrator 10 setup as defined by the install guide. It is on a desktop workstation in our IT customer support center with a usb modem. We're trying to find a better way to do this so that there is less risk of losing that workstation to some error.

We're looking at Right Fax as it is our corporate faxing solution. We're starting to look at the files that Lawson's PO120 generates for faxes to see if we can bypass the Fax Integrator completely, but would be curious to see if anyone has integrated with Right Fax successfully.

Has anyone successfully implemented RightFax to replace Lawson Fax Integrator successfully?

Our Lawson Fax Integrator is running on a XP workstation and we need to retire it.  We have implemented RightFax as our Virtual Faxing solution for the corporation.

Wondering if anyone has successfully implemented RighFax for Lawson?

thanks.

We've continued to look at this, but haven't been able to replace the fax functionality with RightFax. However, what we are looking at is using email instead. Our RightFax is set up to send fax from an email where the fax number is in the To line. We had to put this exploration on hold though for other priorities.
