Fellow Lawson admins. We are running Lawson 8.0.3 with Lid 9.0.1 . Some users are on XP and we have a few on windows 7. For some reason, users have started to get a windows dialog box popup messages box titled Exception. It reads :

WExport Exception in Function Error[CommReadExt]Exception Code [C0000005]Step(0)

This error pops up somtimes when users are chaning betwwen screens. It has also popped up for me when I was running a command from the command prompt.

Once we get the message, the session is frozen..

I have searched the net for this but can not seem to find anything. I would be greatfull for any help or suggestions.

Many Thanks

Peter

Any Lawson changes or potential instability requiring an environment restart?

Have you been on that release of LID for awhile? If yes, has an application update (non-Lawson) been pushed to clients? A potential conflict?

We have done an environment restart but that did not seem to help. We have been on that lid version for about the last 4 years.   I wonder if this would have anything to do with lacobrts and latm sizes ?.

Some users are now going to windows 7. This is something that is different. I think my lid is old, but I am on 8.03 apps.  Do you know what's the highest lid that will still support 8.0.3 ?

Many Thanks

LID 9014 is the last version of LID with support for the 803 environment. I have clients still on the 803 environment and I use this version of LID w/Window-7 without any problem.

A quick Google search of the error shows that c0000005 is a common Windows error that is seen when an application causes a fault condition. You may have to go to Lawson on this one to see if they have suggestions. They will likely ask does it happen across PCs and what is the commonality where it occurs.

There is a Lawson KB for this: AR_5420686 (I presume I am not allowed to post it here?)

It states that you need to upgrade to LID 9.0.1.2 or later release to fix.

Also, my understanding was that LID 9.0.1.4 was compatible with Windows 7, but NOT backwards compatible with environment release 8.  9.0.1.2 was the latest version that was compatible with 8.0.3 environment.  I might be wrong on this, but I made a note of this back in June 2010.  And FWIW, LID 9.0.1.2 is happily running on my Windows 7 PC.

I am using LID 9.0.1.4 under Windows 7 and have not had any issues.  I am using it primarily for system administration, but do also use it for application forms.

Kind folks,

I have been getting this error forever. We are on 8.0.3. Would anyone be able to email me a copy of a   LID 9.0.1.4 version?
