We've been told that even after migrating to the LS9 Security, batch job users still require LAUA security.  Can someone explain/clarify this?

Any users (batch job users or other wise) have the option of using LAUA or LSF9 security. I don't think it's right to say any user is "required" to use LAUA security.

Batch job users must be set up correctly, yes. You should review the "Lawson Administration - Resources and Security" document for an understanding of how batch job users must be set up for security. I'm also sure there are some webinars and other training opportunities for security in LSF9 environment.

Sorry.  I was imprecise.  My understanding is that even if we are using LS9 security for access, some functions of LAUA are sill required in order to successfully run Batch Jobs.

That is correct. LS9 is only used for IOS "traffic". Batch jobs still require an identity (whether a specific one or a generic one) and therefore, an associated security class. The "batch program" securable type in LS9 is really just the parameter form and the ability to add/change/delete/submit job. So theoretically you are creating and submitting the job with one set of rules, and the job actually runs using a second set of rules.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

I am having a related issue. I want to submit a non-lawson CL pgm to call e.g. CU201, using
LAIBCH7 ENV(LAW9) USER(&USER) JOBNAME(&JOB).

If I log in as a user and call the job, gives me a Security Violation, on the above line.
If I log in as Lawson-Job completes normally.
Works perfectly via Portal with LSF9, when submitted by user.

Appreciate any help.
