I have Lawson version 9.0.1.2 that is running on an old iSeries model 9460-520 running V5R4.  I am trying to retire that machine.  We are using the Lawson software for strictly historical purposes at this pont.  I want to move all of the objects from my current box to a newer 9009-42A running V7R2.  Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

      Mark,
I do. Call me 505-433-7744 or send me a private message here. There are questions I’d need to have you answer, before I could guide you in the right direction.

Know this, 9.0.1.2 will almost certainly not run on V7R2, you will need to patch it, and that could be problematic, depending on a few things I’d need answers from you on

Kwane, thanks for the quick reply.  I am new to this forum, how do I go about sending you a private message?

For the rest of the community IBMi/Systemi/AS400 community (meaning this post will have a limited appeal), the basics are as follows:

Save/Restore User Profiles, Source, Application, and Data LIBs
          Save/Restore LAWENV/LAWENVM
Copy remaining files in IFS over
Export the LDAP (use CPYTOLDIF if available)
Create new IDS instance to load the file from CPYTOLDIF
          See if it fires up.

Again, I left ALOT out, because the specific process is details dependent

Another option is to see if you can virtualize the old system, stripped down to only what Lawson needs.

            Final post on this....

TWo other options, would be to Call ClearSky, and look into hosting in their data center, and let them worry about the misery of this thing running, or convert it to Windows, assuming you are still on support, such that you can access the product.
