I've seen this done in a Unix environment but does anyone have any suggestions for archiving reports that will be overwritten the next time the job is run - in a Windows environment? It sure would be nice if Lawson had an option to keep output in an alternate location for all posting jobs at least. We only need this for Finance - - no payroll or HR
Thanks!

Since it is unix subsystem running on windows, you can run similar scripts to do archiving as part of a job stream. You can also go with a full solution such as report safe :

You can set up a listener (there are many of these software programs for windows) and configure it to listen to the Print Directory, so that when a new file is created it will check to see if it should copy it to an Archive directory. Once it gets alerted it can copy the print file to some Archive directory that might be named after the print file description. You may need some script customizing to make this work. You would then make the Archive directory read only access for the users. The users can then search in the Archive directory using standard windows search options. This is similar to the approach we use. It is simple, inexpensive and reasonable effective.

Yes indeed. I recommend superflexible.com. I use it at clients to keep files sync'd across servers, for DR/backup and file drops.
