LP08.1 - Service Class
Use Service Class (LP08.1) to define service classes for an absence
plan.
A service class is used to group service codes for absence plan processing.
Service codes are tied to service classes. Service classes indicate which
service codes will be included for length of service requirements, accrual
calculations, limit calculations, and decrementing plan balances for both
usage and payouts.

LP08.2 - Service Code
Use Service Code (LP08.2) to define employee service.
If you use the Lawson Payroll application, the service code will be
attached to a pay code and service records will be created via time entry.
If you do not use Lawson Payroll, service records are loaded into Absence
Management application via a batch load program and/or a manual entry screen.
**Processing Effect
A service code is used on a time record when the employee's hours or
earnings should create service records.
