Effort reporting and certification is a requirement for most sponsored
research. Effort is defined as the percent of time and work an employees
spends on a grant irrespective of how much the grant actually funded the
effort. So an employee may have 30% actual effort on the grant, bu the gran
is only funded for 25% of the salary. Thus, the remaining 5% becomes cost
share activity effort.

Element: Status This field displays the status of the
effort records. Valid values:
1 - Calculated (GM165) has been run for

option to create the GMEFFORT records.
Actual effort has not yet been entered.
2 - Entered (GM65) Actual Effort
percent is input via GM65, but it is not
certified.
3 - Partially Certified (GM65)
Certification action has occurred on the
GM65 form for the primary certifier, but
a secondary certifier exist and has not
certified the record.
4 - Completely Certified (GM65)
Certification action has occurred on the
GM65 form for the primary certifier if
no secondary certifier was specified, or
it has been certified by both the
primary and secondary certifiers if both
are assigned.
1 = Calculated
2 = Entered
3 = Partially Certified
4 = Completely Certified

Element: Employee This is the employee ID of the Primary
Certifier as defined on the HR11.3 form
for the employee on this record. GM165
populates this field when the record is
created.
EFH-PRMCERT-USR-ID Alpha 10 (Lower Case)
Element: User Used as an audit along with Primary
Certifier Employee ID. This is the login
ID of the person who certifies the
effort as the primary certifier.

Element: Date The primary certifier login date used
for audit purposes.

Element: Time The Primary Certifier login time, used
for audit purposes.

Certifier as define on the HR11.3 form

the HR11.1 job code from the point in
time when the Effort Report data was
created.

Element: Position Contains the user-defined code that
represents a position in the company.
This is the home position for the
employee if one is defined on HR11.1. It
is stored here for historical purposes.
