Our MA01 Summarize Distributions flag (currently set to blank, which summarizes amounts) compromises our ability to perform granular, item-level analytics.  We have developed a SQL spend query starting in GLTRANS but without APDISTRIB detail information, we are finding it very difficult (maybe even impossible) to accurately join to POLINE. We are cautiously considering an MA01 configuration change and are interested in learning from any other organization that may have done this (lessons learned, considerations, etc).  We are on version 10, windows.  Thanks,

What are you trying to get a report on?

We have built a SQL spend query for KPIs, Dashboards, and other analytic reports. It ties to GL290. Our current query is reliable only to distribution grain (company, accounting unit, and GL) and to a document level grain (company, vendor, purchase from). We need to expose the PO Line grain to allow our customers to drill down to actionable information (like Item, MFG, Contract, Item Type, etc). APDISTRIB should bridge GLTRANS to POLINE, but can't in our case because we are summarizing distributions per MA01 configuration. We have tried but have so far been unable to work around this. We are interested to explore a change to this MA01 setting, but we have reservations without first finding out if anyone else has been in this position and successfully resolved this.

OK - APDISTRIB can connect to POLINE but you need to go through the MAINVDTL to find the common fields.  We didn't change MA01 to get to the detail.

Can you confirm what your setting is on the MA01 Other Tab Summarize Details field? Is it blank or no?

We had the exact same issue as the original poster. After MONTHS of trying to come up with a report, we finally decided to change our setup to match in detail.
Trust me: If it is an option to make the change, then do so. It is MUCH easier to get the detailed reporting you are seeking. Especially if you have tax and/or AOC's.
