    Hi All,

Does anyone know how to configure workflows for approvals in LTM? We tried to configure the process server but still could not figure it out. Isn't the approvals for general flows such as approving a draft requisition, name change etc. are default to direct supervisor or hiring manager?

    Thanks in Advance

      Hi Randika,

There are two types of changes - State Changes and Process Flows.  State Changes have a predefined (not customizable) workflow.  Process Flows may be modified to change the  workflow through customization by the customer or Professional Servcies.

Simple things like Name Changes, Address, Changes, Adding/Removing Skills, etc were converted to state changes a couple of major releases ago.  Because these are no longer processflows, there is no way to modify the workflow (as far as I know) although the email templates may be modified to some extent.  To find the list of State Changes, you can go to:
        v3.4:  Application Menu>>{prodline}>>Administrator Space>>Global HR Setup>>Email Automation>>{HR Organization}.
        v10.x Administrator>>Set Up >>Email>>Email Automation>>{HR Organization}

To get back to your question, a Name Change request is sent to the Organization Unit "Person Responsible" for approval.  A draft requisition uses the delivered "CreateJobReq" process flow for approvals by default.  As best as I can tell (we replaced this with a completely custom flow) this deliverd flow makes the Hiring Manager the first approver, unless they initiated the flow, and the other approvers are designated on the Requisition as Approver 1, Approver 2, and Approver 3.

      I hope this helps.

        Hi Kelly,

        Thank you for the reply.

I configured an email notification for leave of absence and request a leave from a resource logging but his manager did not get any notification in inbasket or my notifications. It does not display even in resource's my actions list.

Do we have to configure an external email server for this? or do we have to activate work flow or something?

Is LPA needed to configure the other workflows? because i have created an requisition from manager logging and when I try to send it for approval, a msg displays as "No service definition process found for criteria"

It sounds like maybe some configuration was missed in the setup. Did you (your company) do the install, or was it done by Professional Services or Managed Services? It seems like this should have all been set up and smoke tested at installation time.

It sounds like you're going to need to open a ticket with Global Support to get these questions answered.  I'm sure the email has to be configured, but I don't know how that is done.  I don't think the State Change notifications utilize IPA, but I'm not positive.

On the requisition, each action is calls a service, and each service must be configured to call the proper processflow.  It sounds like the service needs to be configured to point to the correct flow.  Note that almost all of the flows need to be modified before they will work correctly.  They often have incomplete email node setup, need configuration variables created/populated, or need other modifications.  Very few of them are turn-key.

Your questions are pretty broad and require much more detailed information to answer correctly.  Getting this all working will require quite a bit of poking around in your configuration and application settings.  I strongly suggest that you work with Professional Services (or maybe an independent contractor, if you can find one that knows Landmark...which is rare).

Unfortunately, I don't think I can help you much on this.  Sorry!

          Kelly

            Hi Kelly,

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Actually we did the installation part and currently we are in process of configuring the application which is the reason why we are getting so much of issues.

As you mentioned, state change approvals does not utilize the IPA. We managed to configure it using process server administrator and currently working on IPA for the other process flows.

            Thanks again.
