    Primary purpose:

    • The Kinder Morgan IT Enterprise Systems group is looking for a Lawson Application Analyst to participate in the support of the company’s Lawson ERP system and associated peripheral and bolt-on applications.

    • This position exists to support both the financial and procurement suites of applications within Lawson S3 ERP System. Perform regularly scheduled tasks to ensure system is operating efficiently and optimally. Facilitate system upgrades to latest version. Coordinates with the other IS staff, end-users and vendor as needed.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    • Responsibilities include the collection and interpretation of functional users’ requirements and participation in the identification, technical translation, development and implementation of solutions to meet those needs, primarily as they relate to bolt-on applications, interfaces between the systems, reporting and data collection for various internal and external audit requests.

    • Assignments are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity. Incumbents work with minimum supervision, conferring with supervisor on unusual matters. Incumbent will: ensure that assigned business system meets the needs of users and complies with the strategy of the organization, resolve day-to-day user related system problems, maintain excellent working knowledge of the Lawson financial suite of products assigned to support, and maintain awareness of innovations and potential system level improvements.

    • Other duties include working with users and software vendors to address financial and procurement application related issues and application upgrade activities. After hours support is an additional responsibility shared with others in the group.

    • In addition, the incumbent of this position will be involved in the following:

    • Perform regularly scheduled tasks to ensure system is operating efficiently and optimally.

    • Facilitate system upgrades to latest version. Coordinates with the other IS staff, end-users and vendor as needed.

    • Participates in planning Lawson implementations. Establishes best approach and prepares detailed specifications.

    • Tracks and reports progress of project to supervisor and user departments. Provides coverage during implementations.

    • Develops test plan scripts and conducts testing for system changes/enhancements.

    • Responsible for the development of all system documentation.

    • Assists in the identification of improvement, utilization and cost reduction opportunities.


    • Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent work experience.

    Experience / specific knowledge:

    • Extensive knowledge of Lawson S3 Financial applications.Preferred knowledge of Lawson Procurement and HR/PR suite of applications.

    • 5 years minimum of experience with implementing and/or supporting Lawson applications.

    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

    • Critical thinking and logical troubleshooting skills.

    • Ability to work well both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment where the sharing of knowledge is highly regarded and expected

    • Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

    • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and procedures.

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through written and verbal communications with all levels of company personnel.

    • Strong customer service skills.

    • Established SQL skills in the Oracle 10g environment. SQL skills in MS SQL Server 2008 / 2012 environments a plus.

    Competencies, skills, and abilities:

    • Experience in the administrator of the Lawson S3 Financial, Procurement and HR/PR product suites

    • Exposure to the Lawson Web products: Portal, EMSS and RSS

    • Experience using the Lawson ProcessFlow Integrator product

    • Experience using VB, VBA and/or Visual Basic .NET

    • Experience within the past 4 years upgrading Lawson ERP System.

    • Knowledge of Windows operating system.

    Supervisory responsibility:

    • Ability to facilitate and lead work groups.
