One of my distribution guys is requesting that one of our stock items be frozen so that he can find out what the on hand count is.

Is it possible to use the IC70 to freeze just one item to get that?

Hi, you can create an IC70 for just one item, list that item (only) specifically on the item tab.

I ran changed the IC70 to only include the one item I wanted frozen. The next step according to our documentation is to form transfer to the IC170 and run in UPDATE mode, although I didn't see any fields for "UPDATE".

When I ran IC170, the report says that number of records selected to be frozen are 585. It also doesn't show any information about quantity on hand.

It looks as if we were actually conducting a Physical inventory, we would print count sheets, then enter in the counts using IC72. Then IC175 is run in NON update mode to review and explain variances.

I just needed to get a QOH count for one item. Now I'm not sure what the next step is.

If you added the one item to your IC70 and used the same id in your IC170, this should have worked.

Bev- if all you want is to know what your SOH is for one item, just go to IC42. Or drill down on IC12. No Need to go through the whole count process unless you need any adjustments to show as a PI in an audit. Run IC179 to unfreeze your inventory.

Thanks Jon! That worked. I also found the info I needed in IC12.

David - I think what I did wrong was I clicked Change in IC70 and did not use the Add function.

                Thanks for your help guys!

I have a question regarding this process. We need to adjust the SOH for one item and due to a change in procedure are no longer able to use IC24. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to go about freezing one item and adjusting the SOH out so a UOM change can be made?

Instead of going through all that you can issue the entire SOH to a department then make your UOM change then credit the department back all using IC21.

Jon, we were told by finance that the above was not an option. I created a select id in IC70 to only freeze a few items but it seems to be freezing nearly the entire inventory. I created the same name in IC15.3 and assigned the bins and then used the same select id in IC70. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

IC24 and IC21 are designed to do exactly what you are requesting. Your finance doesn't want you to use the correct screens for this? That doesn't sound right.

But what you are doing to freeze is correct. IC70:
                        Company
Select ID (you create a name for it)
Require Entry of Count Quantities is YES
                        The next 4 are No

                        All Locations N
Report Group - use the one for the desired location.
                        Consignment Items - include.

Class, Bin and Logic tabs blank

Items tab - put in the one item you want to freeze and click ADD.

Run the 170 for that select ID and if it is freezing more items than you indicated - I would call it into Lawson.
