When trying to connect using MS Add in to a Lawson 8 (Office 2007/Office 2010), what are the steps? Does the user need to be given appropriate permission? Does anyone have any docs that can be applicable to Lawson 8 please?

At what point is the user having a problem? Is the problem that they do not see the Lawson addin when logged into excel? Or do they get a security error when they click the Lawson addin link in excel?

Yes, permissions are required for logging into Ms ADDINS. If there are not enough previledges, users will be getting a security error. Are you able to see addins (query wizard, upload wizard) under lawson tab on excel ? If not you need to import these addins from the lawson folder where you have installed it.

If you are seeing security violation, does the user have Add Ins= Allow in the security RM administrator?
Next step would be to validate it works with an Admin who has more access.
If you were getting a message about Active X, I would point you to 32 bit Excel as that is one of the notifications Lawson sent out about not supporting 64 bit Excel.
