BN48.1 - Savings Bond Beneficiaries
**Form Purpose
Use Savings Bond Beneficiaries (BN48.1) to view each possible owner, co-owner
and beneficiary for savings bonds purchased by an employee.
**Processing Effect
You define a sequence in which bonds are purchased for owners, co-owners and
beneficiaries in BN48.2 (Savings Bond Purchase Sequence). Before an employee
can purchase a bond, a purchase sequence must be defined.
If you are adding an employee's dependent as a beneficiary, the dependent's
Social Security number and name default from HR13.1 (Dependent).
When you purchase bonds with BN140 (Savings Bond Update), BN140 uses the
employee's or dependent's current address from HR11.1 (Employee) and HR13.1
(Dependent). For this reason, employee and dependent addresses do not default
to this form. However, you can override the employee's or dependent's current
address using this form.

BN48.2 - Savings Bond Purchase Sequence
**Form Purpose
Use Savings Bond Purchase Sequence (BN48.2) to view a sequence of owners,
co-owners, and up to 12 beneficiaries in which bonds are purchased.
Important When you run Savings Bond Update (BN140) to purchase bonds, the
application will only use a sequence number with the same effective date as
the bond enrollment. Therefore, it is better to change the original Savings
bond purchase for an employee than to add a new one.
**More Information
Bonds cannot be purchased for an employee until at least one sequence has
been defined for the employee.
For example, an employee wants to purchase bonds for herself, her spouse, and
her two children, in that order. To purchase bonds in this sequence, define
sequence records, one for each person beginning with the employee.
