This is a biggie... We are trying to find a way to identify employees who have a legal name that is different from the name we have stored in TM so they can be validated and updated.
Although our HR procedures designate that the Employee.Name.{Given Name/Middle Name/Family Name} is supposed to be the employee's "legal name" (from I-9 or Soc Sec Card in the US), we know that many or most employee records are not populated in this way. Since we have hundreds of HR Reps doing data entry, and they often enter new hire information into the system prior to completing the I-9 (US) or other new hire paperwork, it is very common for them to use whatever name the employee put on their resume or application, and they generally don't update the TM record after the employee starts.
That said, we'd really like to find a way to do two things:
1) Validate/Update TM with the legal name of all current Employee records
2) Perform name validation for all New Hires/Rehires/Name Changes systematically (IPA flow?)
I realize this sounds like a pipe dream, and probably opens a big bucket of smelly issues... However, does anyone have any ideas about how this could be accomplished? I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
