Is LAUA disappearing with the upgrade to Infor 10 or will admins still be able to get to jobdef via LID.

Is there a way to call jobdef (with all of the options) via Portal?  Or is this one of the enhancements coming with Workspace?

We specifically need to be able to modify the load files and CSV File Attributes (option C from jobdef).

Any help?
TIA,
-Greg

We were told at a user group meeting that LID was going away with Lawson/Infor 10.  There would only be Workspace and SmartOffice.  Just curious when you heard LID was staying?

There were a number of Webinars introducing Infor10 and the migration paths, etc. It was discussed in most or all of those.
LID remains, but only for System Administrators and administrative functions.
LID will no longer be able to be used by users as an Application interface.

I just tried logging in to our (9.0.1.11) test system with a checkls=yes user.. it allows me to run jobdef, create a test job... in amongst several errors telling me that lapm does not support ls users.
I suppose if things don't change too much from where they are at currently, we'll get by.

Thanks all!

That's kinda how it works in v10.
What's different is that lapm doesn't work at all unless you are running in "developer mode" (which is defined as having access to pgmdef--beware!!). In dev mode, lapm works but bypasses all security (since it doesn't exist in latm anymore).

D Duke - The user group misunderstood.  LID is required for development work and sys-admin work - unless they created an entirely new development/admin tool (and I can't see that happening in my lifetime).

John, glad to hear that we will still be able to access LAPM.  I was a bit concerned about that one.
