We recently purchased land to build a branch office, but
did not need all of the land we had to buy. The land was
added as one asset with a quantity of 1. We sold off the
portion of the land not needed. Now I need to dispose of
a percentage of that asset. However, Asset Mgmt won't
let me do that because a partial requires a quantity of more
than 1. Any ideas?

Hi Diane,

Asset Management only does partial disposals by item and quantity, so with a single item single quantity, it won't let you dispose. The easiest way to do the partial disposal you want is to first do an adjustment. Add a new item to the asset for the portion you are going to dispose and then reduce the cost of the original item so that it is the amount you want to keep (make sure your totals still match the original asset cost). Then you can do a partial disposal on the new item you created.

We do partial disposal all the time which require asset adjustment manually prior to disposing partial assets. However, our volume has gotten ridiculously plenty overtime and its taking a lot of manual adjustments to the quantity of each asset we want to dispose. Does anyone know of a better way to efficiently execute this adjustment. Has anyone used Lawson add-in to adjust the quantity and $ of each asset to be dispose.
