Anyone have a quick way to get the amount of PTO that an employee accrues per position/per pay period to display on either the detail button from ESS/Pay or to display right on your pay stub when checking via ESS?

We are trying to get away from mailing the Direct Deposit notices and the only hold-back is that in ESS the per position/per pay period accrual balance is not visible. You can get a total PTO balance, but not enough detail to pottentially save our compnay thousands of dollars in postage every year alone.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest one or two options: 1) create a custom ESS page to show the desired "report", using DME queries against the TA tables, or 2) if you have LBI, or some other "Crystal burster", generate a Crystal report for each employee and put into a file drop location and/or email it to them. Option 1 should be pretty easy...
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

So there's not just some javascript field that I could add to the current page that displays the paychecks?

We currently print our direct deposit slips using Document Express. The file output from the payment run is imported to DI. When we implemented we found out that the PTO balance was missing from the file, or in some cases was showing data from the previous employee on the file. One of our consultants was able to implement a workaround. Apparrently when you do an adjustment on LP70, the appropriate balance would show on the output file. For each employee in the PTO Plan, he created an adjustment of .000001 hours with Hours as the Amount Type and 03 as transaction type. He did this for every pay period for every employee. When a row is processed, it drops off the LP70 and is so insignificant that it doesnt' really impact the employee balance. He used Add-Ins to upload the data. I'm not an expert in that area, but thought this might be helpful.

Greg,

Did you ever get this worked out? We are having the same issue with ESS.

Thanks,

We had similar issues but in addition people could see the PTO balance but not the detail transactions. We did like John suggested and built a report that is filtered by user id, now employees see not only the balance but the transactions that make it up. I spent about 3 hours on this report total and it was one of the biggest LBI wins. Last year I added the max accrual balance to the report so employees can track their balance vs where they will stop accrueing more hours. The other advantage is that I also don't have to customize with each ESS upgrade.

We finally ended up paying LPS to do it. We got what we wanted, but I'm not sure how much it cost.
