Our signature authority thresholds have not changed since we went live with Lawson back in 1996.  In prepping for our new system, we're looking to update them and were wondering if anyone would be willing to share theirs?

Currently, any equipment/instrument with a unit cost of $1500 or higher is capital. For department routine orders for goods and services, anything <=$5,000 only needs one level of approval, then there's a huge jump to $50,000, then $100,000, then $200,000 and anything beyond that needs our company's CEO signature on it.

We find it varies greatly based on the line of business: hospital, research, practices, insurance. For example: hospital runs 10k, 100k, 1M, 5M, 1B. There are some exceptions: surgery, for example. We designed the matrix to have department-level override possibilities, though this is used infrequently. Physician Practices: 2500, 50k, 750k, 1B. Insurance: 50k, 150k, 11B. Research Subcontractors: 25k, 25k+. Each line of business has it's own opinion: sometimes a desire to not have trivial matters cluttering desks of senior leadership; sometimes a desire for significant control.
