Have anyone moved from the one to the other?  If you are experienced in S3, is working with M3 so much different?  From the demo it seems only the interface is different.  Is the underlying table structure and rules also different?

Please help.  I come from S3 background but now live in NZ where only M3 are used and need to know what to tell prospective employers.

In my personal experience M3 and S3 are nothing alike "under the hood". I doubt that your S3 knowledge would help you much with M3.

Thank you Dwight, that is not what I wanted to hear, but at least I can stop being hopeful.

Ronel, it may also depend on which S3 platform you're experienced with..if your S3 experience was on RPG on AS/400-iSeries, you might be more comfortable with M3 than if your S3 experience was on a COBOL / UNIX platform.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

It seems my luck is out. I have only had experience with the COBOL / UNIX platform. At this stage I am just relying on the fact that Lawson is based on Best Practices and the processes it covers should be similar.

thanks again
