We are looking for any solutions others may have to accomodate a recent request. We are starting to do some work for government contracts which the employees will need to have certified payroll and be paid weekly when they work on these government contracts. Here are a few notes to keep in mind.
1. Will not always be the same employees
2. may not always be a full 40 hours worked on that project
3. the number of employees could change daily (could be 1 person could be 3 people)
I thought of moving them to their own process level but then it would be a nightmare to have to constantly move these people if its only for a day etc. Not even sure how we could do it for a day.
I thought about doing an offcycle check for these folks each week but that also causes an issue since our deductions are set up for a certain bi weekly amount. If I set up the offcycle check to do it on the second week which would fall in our payroll week, there will be no deductions to certify for that week. Then we run into the problem where we would have to back out those hours from their 80 hours that is automatically going ot get populated because we are biweekly and our system automatically pays 80 hours for all employees and we just enter exceptions (overtime, vacation, sick). We would also have to remind the supervisors not to enter the overtime in Lawson if they already gave it to us because we would then be paying it twice.
I was tasked to see if this was possible or not to do within in Lawson (pay weekly employees when everyone else is biweekly but knowing the employees could be different every day).
Does anyone know of a way we can do this in Lawson or is it even possible? I fear this is going to be an administrative nightmare. Does anyone know of a way this could be done?
Thank you for any input.
