We had an absence plan that was for all employees (LP01).  Everyone accured at the exact same accural rate.  One plan (Lp01) one group (GR1) one structure, etc.

GR1 group had the critera of everyone in a full time or part time with benefits employee status.

Then management needed to change the accrual rate for financial reasons, and they wanted to grandfather everyone who was hired prior to 7/1/2008 into the existing accural rate and create a new accrual rate for employees hired after 7/1/2008.

through our consultants advise we created a second absence plan (LP2) and attached the group > 7/1/2008 and put the criteria of the group anyone with a hire date of 7/1/2008.  then we attached the new accrual rate to that plan.

Then under the old plan (LP1) they recommended we attach a new group called less than 7/1/2008 (GR < 7/1/2008)

The end result was that in the leave plan 01, now everyone hired prior to 7/1/2008 are in two groups tied to the one leave plan, and they are double accruing.

What should have happened was only have one group under the LPO1, but somehow include the criterria of employmetn dates < 7/1/2008.

I am about to cry, becuase this is showing up on the Employee Self SErvice, which is brand new to employees so everyone is already looking with a very critical eye.

Can anyone out there help me delete the empoloyee group from the plan structure

Global support already tired by having me delete the criteria on the group < 7/1/2008, but that didn't resolve the time that was accrued

Then he had me run a purge program, but it is still there.

I dont' know if anyone can sense my panic, but I am in a pickle.

I don't have all of the particulars but you should have ensured that there was no overlap in the groups before you did anything else.

Have you run an LP103?

I don't think that you need a completely new plan. Even if you went that route, you'll want to make sure that the groups are mutually exclusive.
