We were set up to not withhold company paid unemployment amounts because we are a non-profit, but payroll would like to use the PR291. Our consultant suggested
that the only way we can do this is to withhold unemployment and then have GL remove the liability. How do other non-profits handle unemployment reporting?

I believe there may be 2 ways for you to handle this depending on whether all your employees are in the non-profit.

You can set up an override in BSI with a rate of 0 if you have employees sharing a deduction code and some need to be taxed and some don't.

The other option, I believe, would be to set up the deduction code with all the cycles set to "T" for taxable wages.

I hope this helps.

All of our employees are nonprofit so we will test with T's in all the state unemployment deductions - thank you so much!
