Rich Client no longer loading after Java update

I updated my version of Java from V8 Update 151 to V8 Update 171 and I can no longer launch my Rich Client. I've added it to the security exceptions but still will not launch. Any ideas?

We usually have to reinstall Rich Client after update Java on our PC.

When Oracle decided to update the program to include the version number in the path, we went through the same issue. One of our engineers discovered that Oracle also installs a symbolic path for the executable. If you change the shortcut that point to the explicit location (i.e. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_171\bin\javaw.exe") to the symbolic ("C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath\javaw.exe"), you will not need to reinstall between Java upgrades. You can also update the uninstall links located in "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Lawson Software\lrc" and that will make sure the uninstall works also (if you ever need it).
