Anyone on BSI10 ? Reading thru install guide, you can access BSI client via browser now. If that is the case, then less work for admin to support BSI users. If yes, please shoot me email mannt@email.chop.edu so we can trade phone #.

I am still trying to get our hands on the install guide. Getting our clients to figure out how to set us up with Salesforce logins has proven challenging. :-(

As I understand things the pc client software is no longer in the picture, and the whole thing is now a web app running in Tomcat. This would be an awesome and welcomed change. Perhaps someone else who has been through the installation would care to enlighten the rest of us. ;-)

completed last week.

on server side, same as BSI9x

on client side, i installed/configured BSI 10 onto windows 2012 server: java, tomcate and bsi client. make sure port 8090 is open, else tomcat will not work.

I know that BSI has had a web version of TaxFactory for a long time but Lawson has never given us that option before. So with TF10 there is no longer a Client Install?

Lawson uses BSI TaxFactor to compute payroll taxes. Lawson sets up the API's etc. and tells us which CTPs to apply (if any) to use each new cyclical update. Many BSI updates do not require Lawson changes but some do. Lawson has always dictated that we use the Client/Server version of TaxFactory even though BSI has had a web version available for quite some time. So my question is if "the pc client software is no longer in the picture, and the whole thing is now a web app running in Tomcat" does that include those of us using Lawson payroll or are we still limited to Client/Server rather than Web?

Do you mean as far as a financial/ownership relationship?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

The TF10 client is now a web application. You need to install it on a web server in house and then instead of running the BSI client on your local workstation you will login to this new web server. Once you login the app is similar in functionality although a little different look and feel from the standard client. This doesn't change how Lawson interacts with BSI for payroll tax calculation
