We had to change the hostname of our windows 2008 server that is running WAS 7.0 for Lawson. Does anyone have a process for changing WAS configuration to use the new hostname? Since the nodes and cells all use the host name WAS will not run until I make the change but I'm not 100% sure of all the places that need to be changed. Any help would be great.

This can be tedious and difficult. I've done it by hand before and there are literally dozens of references that need changed. However, here are some adiditional references that might help you.

I actually think it's easier to reinstall and configure WAS.

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

I agree with John. Reinstall WAS is I think, the easiest to do.

To change the host name, etc. in all those places is a pain, and what happens if you miss one or a few of those places and "things don't work".

Something similar, I've been asked in the past to change where the Lawson environment is physically located (i.e from one drive to another), and I recommended a reinstall too. I think there is just too many places where you may miss something otherwise.

Let me follow up my post with I agree with the reinstall - MUCH cleaner approach - and typically much faster and easier.
