To test the enviroment/application upgrade process from 9.0.1.3 to 9.0.1.5 I would like to take a copy of our lawson server(windows 2003) and place it on a virtual server(with a new name) and perform upgrade test on it?
What i am wondering is how to ensure i get the IP's changed and what/how this will affect the Websphere, will any registry settings need to be changed. I know very little about websphere and want to ensure that is correct.

Hi Shawn,

I am currently working on a project where I've cloned my lawson servers from one set of virtuals to another. I have figured out the WebSphere part and am now moving onto the SSO and Lawson configuration. If you would like to discuss, just let me know. Kwane is correct...it's not a simple conversation.

There are two parts to your question: cloning as well as making it a VM. It's hard to lay this all out without knowing more details (OS/DB etc. What virtualization platform, etc.). I also think it would behoove you to retain some consulting either from a reputable independent, Lawson or a partner who has experience. Suffice it to say that both can be done, and it can save some time vs. doing a clean install, but it's not trivial. =
