Uninstall a Technology patch

I'm trying to uninstall LSF technology patch, LSFCT_NT_09000006P39833, and I am unable to do so.  I'm getting the following error message: 'Fatal Error, Exiting....Patch Removal cannot continue.'  Why am I getting this error?  Is there a fix for it?  It's frustrating to get this message.

 A first step to a resolution means looking at the log file produced from the patch. That log file should have more information.

Thanks Roger. I looked in the log file, and it says 'Backup for InstallID 39 does not contain all required files.' I installed the same patch in our test environment. I was thinking I could take the backup files from that backup folder and copy them to the DEV environment, where I'm having this issue.
