We are trying to upgrade our env 9.0.0.5 to 9.0.1 and while trying to run the upgrade we get the foll. error:

File GEN/EXECUTABLE.

OpenDBFile2 error is Driver failed (54).

When we look at the lawson kb the resolution is to set the ORACLE_HOME directory in /etc/lawson.env and $LAWDIR/gen/oracle. We have checked both the places and they are the same and have been set.

Has anybody seen this error? How did you resolve this,

tia

Ruma.

What is recorded in ladb.log for this? Driver errors usualy provide more detailed information in ladb.log. ORACLE_HOME is just one of the possible causes.

We had to change oracle to point to 64 bit. The oracle database though was pointing to 64 bit, the binary files under $GENDIR/bin was pointing to 32 bit. Once we changed this we stumbled on the next error which is the cobol compiler. We have to have 64 bit license keys for both application and server.

In the upgrade requirements it states that if you are on aix 5.3, aix, oracle and microfocus compiler should be 64 bit.
