Hi!  We are on LSF9 using Lawon Security 9 on Unix and are getting ready to deploy ESS/MSS.  Does each employee need to have a UNIX id in order to store who updated the field for audit purposes?

Well, yes, no, and maybe....

if you use specific users for database audit purposes, you have to create an username/password in the database, and then specify that as an identitiy in RM. For Oracle, the users don't have to have an OS identity, but for DB2 I believe they do...
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Chris,

Are you referring to the update user id in the various HR/PR tables?  then yes if you would like to see something other than your priviliged identity that you setup... then all ESS users will need their own id.   These fields are updated by the backend COBOL app which is running as whatever user is tied to the environment identity or is defaulted to the "ONLINE" identity if you went that route.

Thanks,
