Hello,

I am cleaning up the RNI report (PO135).

Most of the report consists of inventory items that were received in the system but not actually received from our vendors.

In order to reverse these transactions, I adjust the line in PO33. I am running into situations where the RNI quantity I need to adjust is more than the available on hand quantity. Lawson will not allow me to adjust the on hand quantity to a negative number.

Is there an option to change this rule? I want to be able to adjust the on hand inventory negative in order to cleanup the RNI. I will be completeing a full physical inventory soon so the negative on hand inventory balance will be corrected.

Thank you for the help.

There is a flag in your company setup (IC01) to allow negative on hand inventory but I would recommend using IC24 to adjust in the needed quantity. You can use your PI adjustment account as the offset here and then when you do your PI, IC175 will correct.

v9 and higher - you can go to PO20 and use FC V (Archive) on the PO line. This will clear the RNI and close the PO line without trying to adjust the stock on hand. This is assuming that your inventory had corrected during a cycle count and that you aren't going to receive more product or an invoice. It's the inventory version of calling a mulligan on the line.

Great. Thank you.

Question about cycle counting:
Is it possible to cycle count one or a select few item(s)?
My original assumption was to enter the item # in the "Items" tab when creating the select IDs in IC70, but that did not work.

How to get that Items tab on IC70 to work has always eluded me as well. What you can do is build a bin group that includes the specific items you want to count and enter that on the Class, Bin tab.

Asked and just tested.  IC70 items tab works for me.

Initial Tab: All Locations N  Report Group: same used to freeze all items.

Class, Bin tab: blank

Logic tab: blank

Items Tab: populate with items desired.

Add/Change and then run the IC170.  Per IC78 and IC72, only the items on the Items Tab freeze.

Exactly what I tried and have tried in the past. IC170 shows all items in the location frozen - 1002 items - no matter what items I enter on that tab.

I agree with Jon. IC170 shows all of the items in the location are frozen.

Funny... Infor doesn't even mention the Items tab for this question.

Correction, it does but strange resolution.

KB 1188707

Description:
Is there a way to freeze only 1 item for physical inventory?

Resolution:
Add a inventory class in IC06.1 and do not attach this inventory class to any items. You will need to set up a select id. On IC70 in the class / bin tab add the new inventory class and on the item tab add the item you want to freeze/ count.

Do you have other IC70s with the classes tab populated? It sounds like it adds a hidden field. The only thing that I can think of is that none of mine do so Items work fine for us.

Although - thanks - I'm making sure to add this to the v10 upgrade test!

Noe of our select IDs have classes. Do you assign classes to your items? We do so if you don't maybe that's the difference?

This is going to annoy me now... We have Inventory and Purchasing Classes for all items and UNSPSC for most. I wonder why forcing it to look at an empty class supposedly fixes it.

Strange but it worked. I created a new Inventory class and entered it in my select id and entered a couple items and those items were the only ones frozen instead of the entire location.
