Has anyone placed a Global PO comment? We are being asked to place a PO comment that will transmit to all our Vendors, regardless of method, fax, EDI to inform the Vendor of our new Freight requirments.  Thanks Sheri

Yes - we have a custom PO overlay and hardcoded our optifreight info there. For GHX POs I just sent an email to support@ghx.com and gave them the comment to put on every PO - EDI and Metatrade. If you do not have an overlay and the buyers are issuing POs manually (Issue Final from PO20 or PO23), they will need to manually create a comment/use a comment code and you'll need to alter all the PO120 jobs to print it as a comment code. This is what we did waiting for the overlay changes to come back.

Setup your comment in PO12, and then include that comment code in the PO120 comment code parameter.

Sheri, Everything stated above is accurate...but, while putting on comments on the EDI orders will work, I would temper your expectations. Since EDI is system-to-system, rather than system-to-sales person, the comments will transmit, but are often ignored by the receving vendor. You might get better results sending a form-letter e-mail to the suppliers. Within GHX, in order to get certain vendors to acknowledge transmitted comments, you need to use a specific prefix, which actually causes the EDI order to kick out to their sales entry staff. Good luck, Red

Yes, this is what we are seeing, the PO120 will add the comment to PO's processed, and works with Faxed orders, I am not sure our EDI PO's capture/transmit this comment, but will verify that. Thanks for the suggestion to contact GHX to 'process' the message. Thanks for all the input!!! Appreciate it
