I work doe supply chain management in a hospital using Lawson 9.0.1.9.153.
I have an item with stock on hand. If I drill down on the item I see my on hand amount, allocated amounts, on order amounts, etc. However, if I drill down on the Preferred Bin there is nothing there. IC41 doesn't show the item & stock on hand (It skips to the next item).
This is causing issues releasing requisitions. WH32.2 requires me to "walkthru" to WH33 but there is NO bin QTY to select! I get an error.
Is there a way to adjust or fix my bin qty?
Thanks,
Rob in Maine

Hey Rob in Maine,
Do you have the Bin Tracking flag set to Y for this item in IC12?

We use to have this problem where the SOHDETAIL record was deleted somehow. We ended up having to do a screen paint (4GL) to add the record back into SOHDETAIL. We are currently on 9.0.0.7 so I don't know if this still happens in your version.

Yes, they are. I even tried the trick of setting the flag to "N" then back to "Y" to magially put all stock in the PreferedBin.

Does it show in IC42 and if so does the bin displayed here match the preferred bin in IC12?

No it does not. Neither does IC44 under the Details tab.

If you try to adjust everything out I'm guessing you get an insufficient soh error? I'm thinking Jim may be right and you've got some data corruption and you will have to use quickpaint and add the quantity to the SOHDETAIL table.

Try using rngdump and dump the record for that item from the SOHDETAIL file. If you don't find it that would explain why you are not seeing it on IC42 or IC44.

To just get one or two items to the correct bin - you can use IC26. Transfer from blank bin to prefered bin and just copy the UOM.
I have an sql on our report center for our directors to run on demand to tell them if items are not in their preferred bins. They will look when they've rearranged etc.
If it is ALL items - then yes, it's a problem - but occasional items sound more like someone cleared a field or changed a bin at the wrong point in time to me.

I'd be interested to know if that works. It sounds like there's no detail to transfer. If there was then just changing the bin tracking flag from N to Y would automatically move the soh to the preferred bin.

It didn't work.
"From bin cannot = to bin; bin/bin trans with UOM ="
I even tried to force it with Lawson add-ins.
Drag.

Asked the Central Supply Coordinators - they have left the From Bin blank and other times with 7 spaces to get it to go. This has worked for them. They also have changed the bin on IC12 to something else completely - then moved it back.
And I quote, "Yes, that's really annoying. We use Query Wizard to find out what it thinks it is and upload back - or just back it all out - delete IC12 and add it all in again. Oh, and GL Category sometimes does the same thing."
But your message from = to means that the BIN thinks the stock is there even if nothing else does.
Is this one line? Because it is begining to sound like a genuine bug.
(now if you'll excuse me, I have to go schedule a meeting with my inventory people to discuss "Things We Should Tell Kat About")

I found a work around.
If there are no open documents (i.e. orders waiting to be received) I can set the Bin Track Flag to "N" then Back to "Y" to automatically assign all SoH to that bin.

I thought you had already tried that? See your entry from 11/20/2012 04:19 AM.

When drilling on an Item in IC12 the detail tab lists the item in it preferred bin and another bin. The preferred bin shows SOH minus what is listed in the other bin. When I drill down on the other bin there is allocated quantity, but I cannot find the requisition for the allocation. We cannot perform a bin transfer do to insufficient SOH in the other bin and we really need to clear the additional bin to correct the counts in the preferred bin. Any suggestions to rectify this issue?

Have you looked in WH20? That might tell you where it thinks the allocation is.

Yes, I did look in WH20 and still couldn't find the allocation for the second bin. I evening tried to position to the April 1st. I'm not sure if switching the preferred bin will help...any thoughts?

If the item is allocated, I don't think it will allow you to move it, but you should probably try. If the allocation doesn't show on WH20 or WH25, it should on IC44 under Future Status. That would give you req numbers. Drilling on the req number on rq44 *should* give you the shipment number. That shipment number should pull up on WH32.2 and allow you to void.
If the allocations do not appear on WH20, WH25, or IC44, you definitely need to report it to Infor. I would put the title as "Orphan Allocation" to get the right people looking.
