Hi:
If a company uses both LID and portal applications, will any change made on a .scr file in LID be automaticlly reflected on Portal (and vice-versa)?.

Yes. You will need to run scrgen and xscrgen on the app server, and IOSCacheRefresh on the web server. And make sure the form has not been modified in Design Studio.

Thanks John!
I understand all business logic is written in COBOL, which can be accessed only from LID (Am I right?). So even if a company is interested in using only portal applications, they will be provided access to LID too? (to make changes, if they wish- in Business logic, .scr etc.)

Thanks in advance!

The business logic is written in COBOL (or RPG for iSeries customers). Forms running in Portal are calling the COBOL "business logic" on the application server. Portal clientswill receive LID--whether they roll it out to their users (or use Portal, or both) is up to the individual clients. If a client wants to change logic, they would ideally have to do it in COBOL...Design Studio is not the place to do it.
