My company is considering setting up SSL on our Lawson web server to use with Portal. Has anyone else done this yet? If so, how'd it go and how's it working? I haven't found much information on the Knowledge Base other than KB article 98295. I definitely think it's a good idea, but not sure if it will cause more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks!

Hello, Keri!

I have done numerous Portal and SEA installations with SSL, mostly on 8.0.3 Environment with various ESPs.
The trick usually is to register a certificate with the Java store. The rest is pretty simple. Depending on the Java version and web server the install will have a varying degree of difficulty and tools to be used. If you post the versions and platforms of everything, I may have some more concrete advise.

Thanks Alex. We're on Solaris environment 803, ESP5, IOS 8035, Portal 315, Java 131 on the application/database server. The Remote web server is Windows 2000. Let me know if I left anything out.
Thanks!

Hopefully you plan on upgrading web server to Windows 2003. Lawson support for Windows 2000 ended 12/31/2005.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

So far the setup seems pretty "standard", and should work with SSL fine. Pay attention to Lawson instructions for registration of certificate with Java store. Make sure you test Reflux servlet after youre done (that's the most common one to break if SSL is not done correctly - besides job scheduler operations).
