Hi,

Anyone knows where the quicknote data is stored?
We are currently upgrading LSO version and I have a user who have stored a lot of qucknote information that I would like to at least extract. I guess it will not be able to import it into the new version.

Daniel, that data is stored in an internal database on the LSO server. When you upgrade the LSO version, it should be retained, and you wouldn't need to import it.

Hi,
As John said this data will still be availble when you upgrade. Assuming you do a real upgrade and the Click Once is upgraded.

But if you want to move it from one installation to another like from Test to Prod there is a manual way for the end-user.

The data is not stored in the DataBase. It is a local file that you can manually move from one Smart Office to another - if you can find it :-)
It is in the isolated storage and it is called QuickNote.xml. Probably in a folder similar to this: S0\U0\Local.

Interesting that it has important data. I wonder if more customers are using it like that? Export / import functionality is always nice to have...

Thank you for the quick replies.
I located the files but unfortunately the layout is different between our LSO versions (9.0.3 and 10.0.4) so I cannot just copy them.

We are currently rolling then new version out to a limited number of users and I have only received this request from one user. Usually QuickNote is just used to store small notes like order numbers but this user has added some standard texts that she uses in different programs.
Once we have finnished with the upgrade of all users I can let you know if there are more people requiring to copy the quicknotes but I would think this was an isolated case.
