I hear this is possible in 10.0.4 or better.

I asked Patrick Dowd from Infor/Lawson and he said it was supported. He didn't provide any specifics on versions.

In LSO 10.0.4 it is possible to minimize the canvas to minimode. That is done by pressing an icon in the upper right corner.

For all versions it is possible to detach a window and drag it to another window but it is not possible to expand the canvas. You detach a window by pressing the detach icon in the upper right corner of the application window, for example hr 11.

It is not supported as yet.  My IT installed the patch and it apparently crashed the server on them.  It is supposed to be available in the version due out in February 2012.

I am happy to see the question though, Infor made it sound as if we were the only ones who have ever wanted it on the right hand screen!

Yeah. "We've never heard this from any of our other customers", seems to be a pretty common reply from .. all vendors. Maybe part of the special customer service training school they all go to. ;-)

Hi,
Please note that you can detach the form window(s) in earlier versions than 10.0.3. However since 10.0.3 you can move the entire canvas if you like to, it's part of the "minimode" implementation.
There are however a few issues that we have got since this functionality was pressed in a tight schedule. Even thought it was released, there are quite a few issues that has been corrected since then. In most cases you migh not even notice them. So if you are seeing issues on 10.0.4.1 you should have your admin report them to support.

But I wouldn't say that it can crash your server becuase that is not really possible from a technical perspective.

Fair enough.  The "it crashed the server" is heard from my IT department about as often as "We've never encountered this issue, but here's a patch from last month that addresses your issue" is heard from the Support folks!

I believe it was more an issue that the install was very problematic and would not launch correctly.  As we were also in the middle of testing an MSP upgrade, our IT group asked LSO to be pushed back to February when the new release would be available and a "fresh" install to try rather than figure out which patch of which application version wasn't playing well with others.

We have installed 10.0.4.1.39 on six desktops, only three have a minimode that works.  Are there any desktop or PC settings or configurations that need to be in place for LSO minimode to work?

We are finding that the minimode works on a real desktop, but doesn't work on a virtual desktop. Tutorial videos also don't work on a virtual desktop. does
anyone know if there are special requirements for virtual desktops?

ver 10.0.5.0.38, I can run dual monitors when LSO open. BUT, by default is takes my Monitor 1 hostage. I've tried to minimize and move to Monitor 2, but no joy. Really, you can't re-size this window, it's all or nothing.

We found that the mini mode does not work with PC running on Windows XP.

Yes,

MiniMode is only supported on Windows 7 or higher.
So it will not work in a Citrix Environment as well.
