Hi!

We're upgrading to Infor10 and switching platforms from Unix to Windows.

We're struggling because an Addins that should take no longer than 10 minutes tops has been running now for nearly 45 and isn't even half done.

Any settings that I could look at?

TIA,

-Greg

Hi Greg, Did you install new version of the addins for v10? Also, look for log file, in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Lawson Software\Office Add-ins

What John said and a note about Office version - v9 works fine on my desktop with Office 10. Coworker had to upgrade to both v10 and Office 10 to get it to work. There are issues with users on older version of Windows. (I'm public healthcare - there are a lot of users on older versions.)

I've been advised by Infor (though I have not tried yet) that I should horizontally scale a WAS cluster with one WAS just for handling add-in traffic.  They made it sound like everybody on version 10 is doing it...

um, no. that is a drastic measure that shouldn't be required.

Jeff - as John said, that is a drastic measure however I'm not sure I agree that it shouldn't be required. It depends on your use of add-ins and the rest of the system. I've had clients that absolutely pounded the system via add-ins. Best example is applying cash in AR via spreadsheet. 60K lines minimum and they would run them multiple times throughout the day. Portal would immediately slowdown as the rest of the users were going through the same path to perform their daily duties. Separating add-ins had the immediate benefit of reducing the impact on the rest of the user base and the added benefit of preventing a poorly written add-ins query from tying up too man web sphere threads when the user killed it and started again... over and over and over... Long answer to saying... that it is an option and has it's benefits but is not to be taken lightly and no not "everyone on v10 is doing it"

We did install the new version to go along with our upgrade to Infor10.. We've also enabled the "Multi-thread" where it makes sense, but Add-Ins still run slower than they did in our Oracle days. We have found that running Fiddler along side of Add-Ins speeds the upload WAY up, but nobody has a local install of Add-Ins but us in IT. Everyone else accesses Add-Ins via Citrix.

I know this is an older thread, but did Infor offer up a solution for the performance issue? We recently upgraded from v9 to v10 MOA, and have noticed significant performance issues... Uploads running twice as long. We have had a case logged with Infor for over a year now continually testing new versions of v10 MOA. Any insight/solution that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!
