Im trying to create a geneology of AUs by using the LEVEL_DETAIL_## fields from GLNAMES but I dont really understand the values the fields are being populated with.  They dont seem to coorespond to the AU values or the OBJ_IDs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Matt

The level detail number fields comes from the level address defined for every accounting unit on GL20. Lawson provides 5 levels of level address for every accounting unit. Dpending on how every accounting unit is defined in an organization you can use the level addresses for reporting purposes. The level detail field_01 corresponds to the first level address level for an accounting unit. the level detail 02 corresponds to the second and so forth.

For fo the accounting unit number for the OR dept is 40054. But it may have a level address of 200-010-004-10 depending on whether the level addresses followed any smart numbering. If you follow this example 200 is level-detail-01, 010 is level_detail_02, 004 is level_detail_03 and so forth. If you click on gl20 for any accounting unit and go to level addresses you may be able to understand the level detail fields more.

GLNAMES.PARENT-OBJ-ID on the child --> GLNAMES.OBJ-ID on the parent.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

The obj id for every level address for every acct unit is realted to the next higher level address in the chain by the parent obj id.

This also helps maintain the chain of level addresses in order for every acct unit.
